Rebuilding East London Harbour
When I designed East London harbour, I opted for something different. I placed the quay against the back wall and not in front as most models of harbours are arranged. This would have worked well except for one problem. The baseboard is 70 cm wide, (almost 28 inches) which severely limited access for operation. After the first official operating session, I took a decision to redesign the whole area so that operators can reach the trains easier for uncoupling. Here follows a photo essay of the planning and progress.
